The above 0 to 60 Mph and quarter mile times have been sourced from a combination of public publications, private testimonials and individual testing. Please keep in mind that there are a multitude of real world factors that can skew these results, including but not limited to: driver ability, pavement quality, tire quality, elevation, temperature, humidity at the testing site, and the quality of the recording device. Based on this, owners should expect their own vehicles to perform within a general acceptable range of these values.

McLaren History:

Founded in 1963 by Bruce McLaren, McLaren Automotive has been a stand-alone manufacturer since 2010. From its initial introduction up until 1989, McLaren exclusively built race cars. The ambition to build a proper road ready super car had been with the company since the company’s inception, but the death of Bruce McLaren in 1970 significantly hampered that ambition. When the F1 was finally launched in ’89 it received heaps of fanfare. The low-slung wide body super car held the title of world’s fastest car for numerous years, however just 106 models ever made it to production.

After a brief collaboration with Mercedes on the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, the company reorganized in 2010. In 2011 the newly minted company launched the 12C, with the P1 following on its heels in 2013. The past few years has seen the company dramatically increase the number of models offered, all of which define what a super car truly is.
