The above 0 to 60 Mph and quarter mile times have been sourced from a combination of public publications, private testimonials and individual testing. Please keep in mind that there are a multitude of real world factors that can skew these results, including but not limited to: driver ability, pavement quality, tire quality, elevation, temperature, humidity at the testing site, and the quality of the recording device. Based on this, owners should expect their own vehicles to perform within a general acceptable range of these values.

Infiniti History:

Mirroring the success of Honda and their dedicated U.S. luxury brand Acura, in 1989 Nissan introduced the Infiniti luxury brand. The brand however, saw lukewarm success upon its introduction. The initial marketing was thought-provoking to say the least. With no vehicles to show, the brand focused on zen-like displays for its advertising, culminating in the marquee’s logo. However, as the models began to roll out it was evident that the vehicles were just gussied up models of their Nissan counterparts.

As the brand strolled through the 1990’s, sales continued to flounder. A number of questionable decisions led to new models underperforming the prior models, as well as questionable design philosophies. With the brand squarely behind both Lexus and Acura, Infiniti began to see a turnaround in the early 2000’s. After Nissan formed an alliance with Renault, the company refocused its efforts on Infiniti and provided the marquee with the needed resources to set itself apart. Success finally came in the form of the G35 and FX 35/45. The sports car and crossover were a significant departure for Infiniti, leveraging new sumptuous designs with class leading powertrains.

The subsequent decade under the “Nissan Revival Plan” saw significant sales increases and an upswing in market perception. So much so that the success lead to the eventual introduction of the brand in Japan in 2013. Like most luxury brands Infiniti offers a number of performance variants across its lineup. Bar none though its premier sports car effort is the “G” Coupe, in either G35 or G37 trim. A recent nomenclature repositioning has seen the “G” line of cars transferred over to “Q” designations. As it stands the Q50 & Q60 provide the most exhilarating performance experience to consumers.
