2008 - 2017 Buick Enclave: Vapor Solenoid Replacement

Is your 2008-2017 Buick Enclave giving you difficulty starting after filling up? If so, chances are that the symptom is related to a failing vapor purge canister solenoid on your 3.6L V6 engine. Step One:
To reach the solenoid you’ll have to remove the main beauty trim which just pops up after removing the oil filler cap.
Step Two:
The solenoid is located right by the throttle body. It’s very easy to get to and only requires a couple of tools to remove.
Step Three:
You’ll need to disconnect the electrical plug by depressing the retainer.

Step Four:
Next you need to remove the vacuum line. The vacuum line is easily removed by pressing in on the green clip holding it in place. Once here you can just pull the solenoid off.
Step Five:
Make sure your new solenoid matches up. (There can be several different style brackets, but they can be moved from one unit to the next as need be).
Step Six:
Install the new solenoid reversing the previous steps. Then clear your codes with an OBD2 scanner, or disconnect your battery to reset the ECM.
